Sierra Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations in the Reno, NV area. This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial manufacturing equipment, and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and production systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other equipment-related issues.
- Diagnose equipment failures and identify the root cause of machine breakdowns.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, replacements, and equipment installations as needed.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and extend equipment life.
- Inspect machinery and equipment for potential safety, mechanical, or operational issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation, and repair logs.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to address equipment issues and minimize interruptions to production.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Follow all company safety procedures, maintenance standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, certificate, or formal trade training preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, schematics, and mechanical/electrical diagrams.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs in a production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and management teams.
- Manufacturing, automation, heavy industrial, or high-volume production experience is strongly preferred.
