The primary purpose of the position is to perform maintenance and repair of architectural components of buildings, installation of building hardware components, complex furniture systems and maintain inventory of interior design assets, requiring the use of a variety of trades and practices associated with the following occupations: carpentry, painting and inventory management.

• General repair of infrastructure. Moving, installing, and uninstalling furniture and fixtures. Performs all scheduled preventive maintenance by policy or direction. Repairs/replaces items of furniture such as work surfaces, file cabinets, bookcases, lockers, shelves, etc. Responsible for the proper care and maintenance of all tools and equipment assigned. Maintenance and repair of complex furniture systems. Install wall hung furniture, wall hangings and fixtures according to layouts, blueprints, instructions and facility plans.
  
  Plan and measure material according to requirements and dimensions outlined in instructions and blueprints. Use shop tools such as hammers, drills, handsaws, screwdrivers and power saws. Performs reparation, texturing and coating methods and techniques. Sands, scrape, texture, spackle, and putty surfaces. Match texture and paint color to existing surfaces. Use tools and equipment such as scrapers, wire brushes, putty knives, sandpaper, paint brushes, rollers and spray guns.
  
  Keeps work areas clean. Preforming other duties as assigned.

  Physical Requirements:
  
  The duty of this position requires the incumbent to be in good physical condition. The incumbent must be able to work at various heights, such as working from ladders. The incumbent shall be able to work in positions such as standing, stooping, bending and other tiring and uncomfortable positions. The incumbent shall be frequently required to lift objects weighing over forty (40) pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing over ninety (90) pounds.
