Under close supervision, this position is responsible for the transportation, supervision, and safety of groups of juveniles participating in the Washoe County Work Program and performs related duties.
QualificationsCompletion of 48 college credits from an accredited institution with coursework in behavioral sciences, criminal justice, human services, social work, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
Licenses & CertificationsValid Nevada Class C driver’s license.
CPR/First Aid certificate.
Background Checks- Submit fingerprints
- Complete and submit a personal history statement
- TB test upon offer of employment
Must reside in the state of Nevada or neighboring California communities such as Truckee, South Lake Tahoe, or Susanville as of first day of work.
Compensation and BenefitsAnnual merit increase of 5% until maximum salary reached. New employees hired at minimum rate of salary range. Full-time or part-time permanent employment provides the same benefits and salary schedule as other Washoe County departments.
Veteran BonusEligible veterans who were honorably discharged receive one bonus point on Open Competitive examinations. Proof of honorable discharge (DD-214 with classification of discharge) must be submitted with application.
