Workforce Development Case Manager

The Workforce Development Case Manager provides wraparound case management services to youth engaged in workforce development programming within the Youth Support and Intervention Department. This role supports young people participating in programs such as Continued Success, Washoe Youth Build, Redfield Academy, and other education and workforce initiatives.

The Case Manager works closely with youth, families, employers, educators, and community partners to identify strengths, address barriers, and connect participants with employment, training, and educational opportunities. Services emphasize a strengths-based, family-driven, and collaborative approach rooted in The Children's Cabinet's wraparound model.

Supervision:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Duties
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the agency's mission, strategic focus areas, and overall objectives, actively contributing to their success.
  • Read, understand, and consistently apply all agency and department policies and procedures, and adhere to ethical standards and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of agency programs and community resources to provide accurate information and referrals during case management.
  • Participate in program-related activities, including staff and parent meetings, and events (e.g., field trips, awards ceremonies).
  • Provide wraparound case management services to youth and families, including intake assessments, individualized service planning, and ongoing progress monitoring.
  • Conduct career exploration, vocational assessments, and identify workforce pathways aligned with participant interests and goals.
  • Facilitate access to services and referrals, including mental health, housing, education, employment, and supportive resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and short-term stabilization services as needed.
  • Guide youth and families through systems such as education, workforce, and social services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in approved databases in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports, eligibility documentation, and case summaries.
  • Provide transportation for youth and families when required.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers, training providers, and community organizations to expand workforce opportunities.
  • Coordinate career-building activities including job shadows, site visits, mock interviews, guest speakers, and informational interviews.
  • Deliver workshops focused on job readiness skills, including resume writing, interviewing, and workplace etiquette.
  • Support participants in obtaining industry-recognized certifications (e.g., OSHA-10, Serv Safe, CPR/First Aid, CHW, and other stackable credentials).
  • Match participants with job opportunities aligned to their strengths, interests, and training pathway.
  • Monitor youth employment placements and conduct follow-up assessments to ensure retention and success.
  • Provide employer engagement, mediation, and coaching support to address workplace challenges and strengthen retention outcomes.
  • Assist with program marketing and outreach to prospective employers and partners.
  • Participate in community workforce initiatives, coalitions, and recruitment events to strengthen program impact.

  • Communicates effectively and collaborates within multidisciplinary teams, including instructors, job developers, and leadership
  • Maintains accurate documentation, compliance, and data integrity aligned with program and grant requirements (including WorkforceGPS expectations)
  • Responds effectively in crisis situations with stabilization, de-escalation, and appropriate referrals
  • Demonstrates cultural responsiveness, professionalism, and adaptability when working with diverse youth and families
  • Focuses on measurable outcomes including HSE attainment, credential completion, and employment or postsecondary placement
