Operations Coordinator

Overview

GLS Group is one of the largest parcel service providers in Europe with a strong local presence across more than 50 countries. GLS operates through its network of over 120 hubs and 1,600 depots with 36,700 vehicles, enabling high‑velocity and flexible service delivery.

The Operations Coordinator supports daily operations at the assigned location, communicating with drivers, contractors, customers, and Operations team members to ensure successful parcel pick‑ups and deliveries. The role reports directly to the Depot Supervisor on shift and requires strong communication skills and quality service orientation.

• Ensures drivers have up‑to‑date route sheets for each scheduled route.
• Assists TPC managers in getting drivers out promptly and monitors performance.
• Schedules pickups to the appropriate driver.
• Conducts weekly TPC business‑relationship meetings.
• Maintains cordial relationships with drivers, managers, and other department employees.
• Demonstrates knowledge of streets and routes to help drivers locate delivery sites; dispatches to needed locations for routine or urgent requests.
• Maintains or assists in maintaining assigned files and records; processes pre‑trip forms, sign‑out sheets, or employee forms.
• Keeps current knowledge of routes and locations for timely service and accurate information.
• Performs clerical support duties: types correspondence, compiles data, prepares reports, answers calls, processes requisitions, distributes mail.
• Performs dispatching and clerical support for the assigned department.

• 0–25 lb – Regularly (65 %)
• 26–50 lb – Frequently (34 %)
• 51 lb+ – Frequently (34 %)

Must be able to lift 75 lb.
