Student Worker - Recycle Equipment Operator, Facilities Services

Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Services Department at the University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Recycle Equipment Operator for campus operations.

• Subject to a pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test. Must sign acknowledgment of this policy.
• Must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.
• Valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license required at appointment and for ongoing employment.
• Must complete Defensive Driving course shortly after hire.

• Collect cardboard and recycle totes.
• Operate a bailer and a compactor.
• Drive carts on busy campus roads alongside pedestrians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Dependable, reliable, thorough, motivated, detail-oriented.
• Willing to work outdoors for majority of day.
• Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

• Walking or standing for a significant degree.
• Pushing and/or pulling objects.
• Exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, and 10-20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures while working outside.

• Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
• During semester: up to 25 hours per week.
• During breaks: up to 40 hours per week.

• Grade Student Employee Level 2 - $14.00 per hour.
• Exempt - No Full Time Equivalent; equivalent to 0.0% FTE.
