Weekend Ecom Distribution Clerk
Department: Distribution Center
Reports To: Distribution Center Supervisor or Operations Manager
Position PurposeMaintain warehouse documentation and create reports pertaining to incoming and outgoing merchandise shipments to and from the distribution centers and the stores. Ensure timely and cost‑effective transport of merchandise and maintain accuracy of the Warehouse Management System. Tasks are covered by general operating procedures; questions are referred to the supervisor.
Essential Job Functions- Efficiently create complex documents and/or reports using spreadsheet software.
- Type correspondence and/or documents using Word Perfect software.
- Efficiently enter data via 10-key by touch.
- Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all contacts inside and outside the Company.
Incumbents may work in one of the following departments in a clerical capacity:
Shipping, Receiving, or other DC departments, and may perform any of the duties listed herein.
- Set‑up and maintain documentation process for daily outbound deliveries and inbound receiving log, verifying merchandise received matches purchase orders.
- Complete damaged merchandise/discrepancy paperwork and prepare damaged merchandise for transfer to RTV.
- Maintain Warehouse Management System and use it to research and identify product numbers, obtain SKU numbers and locate merchandise within the warehouse.
- Observe and promote established safety procedures and maintain a clean warehouse environment.
- Assist in quarterly and annual inventories.
- Special projects as assigned.
General instruction is provided on some tasks to be completed and work is periodically checked. Non‑routine tasks may be assigned without direct supervisory direction and may last from one to several days.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThe position generally does not entail supervising other employees, but on occasion management may delegate additional responsibility to include providing functional guidance to others.
Education & ExperienceMinimum educational background: high school diploma or GED. Basic math proficiency and working knowledge of computer fundamentals are required. Six months to one year of previous clerical experience, including 10‑key by touch and basic office support duties, is preferred.
Work EnvironmentDuty may be performed in an office environment with some exposure to, or in a warehouse environment with constant exposure to, heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and/or noise. Work is almost exclusively performed indoors in one location. Minor injury risks related to warehouse conditions exist.
ContactsPrimarily with the immediate supervisor and employees within the warehouse, generally involving routine information exchange. Contact with outside vendors may also occur but is typically limited to routine exchange of information.
