DescriptionEssential Functions:
The Vault Lead is responsible for the following essential duties:
- Approach work with a Continuous Improvement mindset, and engage in Model Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
- Own and promote a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
Support the achievement of established productivity standards, including key operating indicators, load accuracy, and inventory control, and assist with corrective actions when performance targets are not met.
Manage Return to Stock products in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with storage and inventory control practices that support production schedules, prevent product outages, and maintain proper product rotation through FIFO practices.
Ensure products prepared for loadout are properly staged, verified, and ready for customer shipment.
Assist with employee scheduling and daily workforce coordination to support operational needs.
- Coordinate employee work assignments by utilizing team member skills, experience, and observed capabilities.
- Provide day-to-day directions to support consistent performance, teamwork, accountability, and a professional work environment.
- Maintain required documentation to support accuracy, accountability, and traceability within loadout and inventory processes.
- Maintain the Vault floor, pit, walls, ceiling and surrounding areas in accordance with housekeeping standards and SQF readiness requirements.
- Promote and support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the operation.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to support the best operational practices and effective cross-functional communication.
- Support internal and external audit activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department and business needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- One to two years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably with distribution responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability to provide technical support related to operational processes and mechanical systems.
- Must be willing and able to work different shifts as business needs require.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Quality Assurance policies and procedural methods.
Working knowledge of employee health and safety practices.
Qualifications Education RequiredHigh School or better.
