Pay: $425/week – Room and Board (lodging and food) included
General Duties- Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
- Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and living quarters.
- Assist with cleanup of the entire camp at the end of each session and at summer’s conclusion.
- Prepare and deliver the Archery Instructor camp brief at the end of the summer.
- Assist with evening cabin supervision.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Program Director.
- Enforce camp policies and procedures.
- Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.
- Ensure compliance with American Camping Association safety and program standards.
- Coordinate and implement all program components per the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
- Perform “Break Day” duties as scheduled.
- Follow the NASP Archery curriculum and oversee the range and archery instruction.
- Directly supervise all activities at the archery range.
- Provide necessary repairs to the range and equipment.
- Account for all arrows at the end of each activity period and file a written report of accidents and near misses.
- Tag any cracked or broken arrows, bows, or bow strings as “needing inspection.”
- Maintain the range area clean of litter and tall grass.
- Post all range commands, rules, and emergency procedures, and be able to execute them.
- Supply water, cups, and trash bags for each activity period.
- Order needed supplies through the Recreation Director.
- Prepare the Archery Instructor brief at the end of the summer.
- Create an environment that fosters group success.
- Know the type of group and its specific needs.
- Maintain open, friendly, and professional relationships with participants.
- Maintain an attitude of fun, excitement, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.
- Lead games and activities for groups ranging from 8 to 20 campers.
- Communicate clear instructions and safety procedures to participants.
- Prepare all equipment and props before campers’ arrival.
- Participate in training sessions with the Assistant Camp Administrator.
- Ensure safety of campers and staff; inspect equipment before and after each course.
- Report damaged equipment verbally and on pre‑use inspection forms.
- Participate in safety training and communicate all safety procedures and standards.
- Be attentive to surroundings and participants’ needs during all courses.
- Be aware of any medical/physical conditions or special needs of campers.
- Lead briefing and debriefing sessions with each group.
- Communicate objectives of the activities and the Five Finger Contract.
- Observe group responses, formulate questions to encourage learning, and facilitate wrap‑up sessions.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including pre‑use inspections, course evaluations, rope and equipment logs, incident reports, and maintenance forms.
- Coordinate with Program Directors and the Assistant Program Director to plan weekly duties.
- Perform inventory of challenge course equipment and supplies weekly.
- Maintain a safe and aesthetic course through any necessary maintenance.
- Perform any other duties required to provide an excellent program.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate a telephone and a desktop or laptop computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
- Ability to understand written information.
