WTS Energy is looking for a Project Controller opportunity with one of the leading heavy civil infrastructure contractors in the U.S., working on a major transportation project in Renton, WA
.
This role is focused on project controls from an engineering/construction perspective
, rather than traditional accounting or finance.
We're looking for someone with experience supporting construction projects
, who understands cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and Earned Value Management (EVM) to measure project performance from a cost performance standpoint.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project cost control, budget monitoring, cash flow forecasting, and CAPEX/OPEX reporting, ensuring alignment with approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, procurement, and finance to monitor project progress, reconcile costs, and provide accurate reporting to support management decision‑making.
- Track project performance by analyzing planned versus actual costs, progress, procurement commitments, and key project milestones, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
- Review and validate contractor payment applications, purchase orders, change orders, and contract variations, ensuring accurate cost allocation, financial control, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in engineering project controls, cost engineering, or construction cost management on large infrastructure or EPC projects.
- Strong understanding of project cost control principles, forecasting, estimating, earned value management (EVM), and cost performance analysis.
- Experience monitoring project budgets, procurement commitments, quantities, and cost trends throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to analyze cost and schedule performance, identify variances, assess project risks, and recommend corrective actions.
