The OpportunityWe’re looking for a contract video editor and motion designer to help create polished videos and motion content across brand, social, and thought leadership.
We need someone who is equally strong in video editing, motion design, and storytelling. The right candidate can shape raw footage into a compelling story and create polished motion graphics and animation from scratch.
This is project-based work with flexible hours. Eastern time zone preferred; DC area is a plus but not required.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Social & short form: Social cuts, teasers, promos, and captioned content
- Brand & executive video: Thought-leadership, recruiting/culture, event content, and testimonials
- Motion & animation: Explainers, product/demo content, animated data, social animations, and micro-animations
- Edit raw footage into polished, well-paced stories
- Create motion graphics, animation, titles, transitions, and other branded assets
- Edit and mix audio and voiceovers
- Help shape scripts and narrative structure when needed
- Own projects from rough brief and source material through final delivery
- Strong After Effects skills, including animation and compositing
- Experience with live and remote recording workflows — including tools like Riverside, remote interview capture, and basic recording setup/troubleshooting
- A strong eye for pacing, storytelling, composition, and detail
- Comfort editing and polishing audio and voiceovers
- A portfolio or reel demonstrating strong work across editing and motion design
- Experience creating content for cybersecurity, technology, or other complex B2B industries
- Familiarity with AI-assisted video workflows
