Position
We are seeking applications, on an ongoing basis, for construction management adjunct instructors and substitutes at Renton Technical College (RTC). Our classes cover everything from project safety to building codes, and the program enrolls an incredibly diverse group of students who are pursuing careers in business and construction management.
The Dean of Business, General Education, and Transfer reviews applications as needed to fill openings during the academic year. We may need temporary part-time instructors as soon as September 2025.This is a part-time position, and the hours and dates may vary and will be established based on assignments. This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by the Renton Federation of Teachers (RFT) Employees Association(Download PDF reader).

Renton Technical College, located southeast of Seattle, has provided quality education in a variety of occupations for over 80 years. Our professional-technical certificate and degree programs offer entry and mid-level training in the areas of allied health, trades and industry, culinary, business, technology, and automotive. Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include
* Demonstrate multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically minoritized populations) and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
* Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with college employees, departments and outside agencies.
* Effectively teach the adopted curricula for construction management classes.
* Design inclusive instructional strategies, including classroom, small group and individualized instruction, to reach all students, and select and evaluate the materials needed to implement these strategies.
* Work effectively with students from academically, culturally and economically diverse backgrounds.
* Evaluate student progress towards attaining the learning outcomes, including thoughtfully designed individual assignments, projects, quizzes, and standardized tests.
* Maintain and submit student records, documentation, and program reports, including annual assessment reports on assigned general education student learning outcomes.

* Demonstrated leadership or participation in institutional programs with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working / learning environment.
