Career Pathways & Transition Coach – Youth Build
Youth Build Spokane is a Department of Labor–funded program serving young adults ages 16–24 who are working toward a GED or high school equivalency while building job‑ready skills. The program blends academic instruction, vocational training, career readiness activities, and community service to prepare participants for employment or further education.
As a Career Pathways & Transition Coach, the Ameri Corps Volunteer will mentor participants as they explore career options, build job readiness skills, and transition into employment, apprenticeships, training programs, or higher education. The Volunteer will also support employer partnerships, career events, alumni engagement, recruitment efforts, and participant retention activities.
Member Duties- Career & Job Readiness – Facilitate workshops on resumes, interviewing, workplace professionalism, etc. Support participants in career exploration, goal setting, and connections to employment, education, community resources, etc. Coordinate career exploration events such as employer panels, mock interviews, job fairs, and workplace tours.
