General Humanities Adjunct Instructors And Substitutes
Are you passionate about teaching in a diverse community? We are seeking applications, on an ongoing basis, for general humanities adjunct instructors and substitutes at Renton Technical College (RTC). This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by the Renton Federation of Teachers (RFT) Employees Association. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as needs arise within each department by the Dean of General Education.
The Dean will evaluate applications periodically and contact candidates as adjunct positions become available. Note that applications may be reviewed at any time while this posting remains active.
RTC offers just one class in this area, HUM&101 Introduction to Humanities, which is a broad, interdisciplinary overview of visual and performing arts (fine arts, theater, music, architecture, literature, philosophy, and religion). We prefer open educational resources (OER) for this course, which enrolls an incredibly diverse group of students. The single section may be scheduled online, weekdays, weeknights, or Saturdays —we are seeking candidates who are local or live in Washington State.
As an Achieving the Dream and an Aspen Institute top 10 finalist in Community College Excellence, RTC is also proud to be a Military Friendly School, serving those who chose to serve.
