Job Summary: Under the direction of the Building Administrator and classroom teacher, is responsible for supporting the secondary educational process. Paraeducators assist students with the unique needs outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). This vital role involves providing direct support to students, helping them access their education through academic support, behavior management, and fostering independence. While you may work one‑on‑one with a student or within small groups, it is important to note that assignments are not fixed to specific students.

Staff members are assigned based on current needs and teacher discretion, allowing us to adapt and reassign support to maximize effectiveness for all students. This position requires effective collaboration with other staff to implement necessary accommodations and strategies that promote student success. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description.

Special Duties/Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to take direction from multiple staff members toward addressing academic goals of students. The primary focus of the job duties will be to support students, both general education and receiving specially designed instruction in classrooms. Individual and small group work is a necessary part of the position.

Students Served: Students with reading, writing, math, self‑regulation and/or social goals who are on an academic track and do not require specialized life skills instruction or intensive behavior support.

Salary Range: $27.38 - $31.13 per hour (Para educator A, 2026-27 Public School Employees Salary Schedule). Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.

Work Schedule:

  • Start Date:

    September 1, 2026
  • Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Lunch Break: 30 minutes unpaid break
  • Calendar: 9 months/year; time off during spring break, winter break, summer, and 10 paid holidays

Qualifications:

  • Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent and meet one (1) of the following:
    • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
    • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or
    • Passed one of the following Professional Educator Standards Board approved assessments:
      • ETS Para Pro Assessment Score of 455 or higher (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).)
      • Para Pathways Score of 324 in Reading and Writing and Score of 325 in Mathematics
      • Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment Score of 220 or higher
      • Master Teacher Inc. Para educator Training Program Score of 65% or higher
  • Upon hire, must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Para educator Certificate.
  • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
