26-27 Cispus Learning Center Youth Programmer
This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. The Cispus Learning Center is an outdoor learning center located in Randle, Washington. We connect students to nature, build confidence, and support learning. This project supports youth academic, social, and environmental awareness. It also improves access to enrichment opportunities in rural communities.
The member will support on-site Cispus programming. They will also provide outdoor learning, tutoring and service projects in the local community. Service activities include environmental education, youth mentoring, ropes course, and more. Members will build skills in education, leadership, and community engagement. Low-cost housing and some meals are provided on site. We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in mid-late June.
Monthly stipend amount: $1,942.
The Youth Programmer will facilitate outdoor and environmental education, experiential learning, and academic enrichment. They will teach ecology lessons, incorporating outdoor experiential learning and content on local flora, fauna and ecosystems; guide field trips to local trails and waterways for hands‑on exploration; lead team‑building initiatives, including rock wall, high ropes, and archery activities requiring safety awareness, knot tying, belay skills, and precision;
increase visibility of facility and programming by providing program related enrichments off site; collect data to measure program impact.
