Substitute Office Support/Clerical Substitutes only:
Applicants are not required to hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

PRIMARYPURPOSE:
Substitute Para educator assignments vary, dependent on the specific position being filled and the substitute's availability. The Substitute Para educator will have an opportunity to select from positions online each day. The primary purpose of this position is to support learning for identified students under the direction of a certificated staff member.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Supervise and monitor student behavior during recess and in the lunch room.
- Assist in clerical tasks as requested by the classroom teacher.
- Assist classroom teachers as needed.
- Maintain library circulation during lunch hours and assist librarians as required.
- Work one-on-one or in small group situations, with instructions from classroom teacher.
- Assist classroom teachers with students under the direction of the self-contained special education teacher.
Education and Experience
- No experience or training required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate flexibility working with staff members in a variety of locations.
- Prefer candidates who are willing to work with students with special needs.
- Demonstrated evidence of promptness and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound, independent judgment, including appropriate handling of confidential matters.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and the general public.
- Culturally competent; ability to effectively work with diverse populations.
- References are required (1) supervisor and (1) colleague/peer.
