Field/Service Technician
Job Description
This position requires the individual to apply their technical experience to support internal and external customers, which includes field service technicians, project managers, contractor clients, and end‑user clients. Responsibilities include phone support, remote BMS support, system and energy savings analysis, alarm monitoring, and occasionally assisting field construction technicians during system commissioning for ongoing projects. The role requires strong computer skills, a solid understanding of computer‑operated systems and network types, and the ability to convey information clearly in a fast‑paced environment.
EssentialFunctions
- Utilizes Remote Services tools to perform daily activities on client systems.
- Communicates regularly with internal and external contacts and clients about ongoing issues and activities.
- Identifies recommendations to repair, modify, or update client systems for operational or energy‑efficiency improvement and communicates these to the Sunbelt Service Salesperson.
- Monitors and responds to alarms and events generated by clients’ remote building management systems.
- Adjusts client system parameters, programs, or graphics as requested, where contractually appropriate.
- Monitors BMS uptime and notifies clients when a downtime event occurs, aiming to achieve high uptime.
- Creates reports from templates and ensures they are delivered at scheduled intervals to contract clients.
- Assists with user management and support for Remote Services tools to maintain total system security.
- Supports sales in client presentations and demonstrations and development of proposals.
- Manages weekly time allocations to multiple projects for on‑time submission of the individual’s timesheet.
- Practices safe work habits and participates in office safety program requirements and any specific project safety requirements.
- Attends and completes OSHA 10 safety training classes.
- Completes assigned formal training and development plans.
- Participates in the ongoing development program with other entry‑level engineers.
- Three years of experience in HVAC service or another customer service position preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and any technical school training is a plus.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Windows, file structure, basic TCP/IP network structure, and web navigation.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously and take ownership of all assigned tasks.
- Valid driver’s license required.

- Regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to operate a computer keyboard and telephone, and talk and hear.

- Regular and routine attendance required.
$88,480 to $111,000 annual salary. Compensation is determined by a variety of factors including job‑related skills, experience, certifications, education, and location.
