Equipment & Tool Engineer – Level 3 (Renton, WA)
We are looking for an experienced Equipment & Tool Engineer – Level 3 in Renton, WA. The selected candidate will investigate and develop equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aviation product design and build requirements.
Position Responsibilities- Investigate and develop equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aviation product design and build requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, collect design requirements, and create drawings and models to support build plans.
- Prepare specifications, purchase requests, and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
- Support user training development.
- Perform design calculations on tools to size members, select materials, and make purchase decisions relevant to the statement of work.
- Create and interpret technical drawings of tools to communicate design specifications, dimensions, and tolerances in compliance with industry standards.
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, and three (3) years of experience as an Equipment and Tool Engineer or a related position.
- Three years of experience utilizing solid modeling software, including CATIA.
- Experience creating technical drawings of tools using GD&T.
- Compliance with ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
- Designing sheet metal parts using 3‑D CAD tools such as ENOVIA.
- Reviewing and approving product engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Evaluating Tool Order packages and analyzing statements of work for each order.
- Serving as signature authority for tooling and equipment structures.
Telecommuting up to one day per week may be permitted.
