Fire Protection Engineer – Coffman Engineers

As a Fire Protection Engineer at Coffman Engineers, you will be part of a collaborative, creative, and high-performing team that believes in making a difference for our clients and our communities.

• Design automatic suppression systems; fire detection, alarm and mass notification system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.
• Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution.
• Analyze existing fire protection systems; design new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, fire alarm and mass notification systems.
• Build and interpret building and fire code analysis.
• Manage day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients while utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Fire Protection specific degree desired.
• 0 to 3 years of professional experience.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred; candidates planning to take the exam within the next six months also preferred.
• Experience with the current version of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Positive attitude focused on team and client success.
• Computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, simple graphics, and a working knowledge of computer-aided drafting.

Salary range: $74,000-$85,000.
