About the RolePerform Dye‑Dilution Testing (DDT) to verify flow meter accuracy, conduct sampling and laboratory analysis, perform field surveys and inspections of sewer structures, maintain dye‑injection equipment, analyze data using QA/QC processes and SOPs, troubleshoot flow discrepancies with modeling engineers and data analysts, develop traffic safety plans, and coordinate with local agencies. Work under a CM III/CM IV and as part of the Flow Monitoring & Analysis (FM&A) team.
Responsibilities- Perform dye‑dilution testing (DDT) in wastewater systems to verify flow meter accuracy.
- Conduct sampling and laboratory analysis of wastewater to support flow measurement accuracy verification.
- Perform field surveys, site investigations, and inspections of sewer structures, maintenance holes, and conveyance assets for DDT suitability.
- Identify suitable injection and sampling points and verify connectivity between upstream and downstream locations.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot dye‑injection equipment, fluorometers, samplers, and related tools.
- Collect, record, and analyze field and laboratory data using established QA/QC processes and SOPs.
- Assist in troubleshooting flow and data discrepancies with modeling engineers and flow monitoring data analysts.
- Develop traffic safety plans for DDT sites and coordinate with local agencies.
- Support inventory tracking and equipment maintenance activities, coordinating with vendors.
- Prepare accurate field notes, technical reports, and documentation of testing activities and inspection results.
- Follow confined‑space entry requirements, PPE standards, and traffic control procedures.
- Ensure safe handling of dyes and compliance during field operations.
- Create or update work requests and track and complete work orders in Maximo.
- Perform administrative duties such as developing work methods and maintaining records.
- During emergencies, conduct or assist inspections to determine damage to King County owned facilities and prepare reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned and participate in special projects.
- Sound understanding of basic hydraulics related to flow measurement and flow monitoring procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals and stakeholders.
- Good attention to detail and ability to organize, manage multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to convey information clearly to staff at different levels.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License and ability to drive a Ford Transit 350 High Roof Cargo Van with an enclosed 6’x12’ trailer on city streets and highways.

- Experience operating and maintaining dye injectors, fluorometers, samplers, and other measurement technologies.
