MP&P Engineer -Composite​/Interior Composite; Mid-level or Senior

Overview

Boeing Commercial Airplanes Materials & Processes (BCA M&P) is seeking an experienced composites engineer for the 737 Airframe Engineering Support team in Composite and Metal bond technologies based in Renton, WA. The role involves defining engineering requirements, developing and qualifying composite materials, parts, and processes, and driving standardization across business operations. The position requires domestic and international travel.

• Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products.
• Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes.
• Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
• Promotes standardization across business activities.
• Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.
• Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements and integrates new technologies as appropriate.
• Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
• Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes and implements corrective and preventive actions.
• Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.
• Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into materials and processes, research, design and qualification, work procedures and labs and office areas.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑US equivalent qualification directly related to the work statement.
• 5+ years of experience in Engineering and Manufacturing environments.
• 5+ years of experience driving data‑informed manufacturing process improvements and complex technical manufacturing challenges.
• 5+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

• 9+ years of experience in Engineering and Manufacturing environments (level
  4).
• 9+ years of experience driving data‑informed manufacturing process improvements and complex technical manufacturing challenges (level
  4).
• 9+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (level
  4).
• Experience with driving manufacturing process improvements informed by data.

Pay range for Mid‑Level (level
3): $119,850 – $162,150. Pay range for Senior (level
