The City of Renton is seeking a skilled and motivated engineering professional to serve as a FOG Inspector within the Wastewater Utility Engineering Division. This position plays a key role in administering the City’s Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Source Control Program through on-site field inspections of commercial food facilities, technical plan review of grease interceptors, educating business owners and kitchen staff on proper grease handling and pre-treatment best practices before disposal, and maintaining compliance data in the City’s GIS and tracking systems.
The ideal candidate blends sound technical judgment with strong interpersonal skills to build cooperative community relationships and protect Renton’s wastewater collection infrastructure.
