Role Summary

The Commercial Loan Credit Analyst III is responsible for analyzing commercial credit requests and assisting with credit approval recommendations based on analysis and review. They work closely with the regional commercial sales team and their commercial members to underwrite loan requests, spread financial statements, tax returns and calculate cash flows and key financial ratios, and assist in the completion of loan committee packages to bring the loan request to the closing phase.

What

You Will Be Doing
  • Spread and analyze personal and business financial information and entity ownership structures to assess creditworthiness and recommend loan structures and terms to loan officers.
  • Prepare Credit Approval Documents with full financial spreadsheets, cash flow analysis, and industry research.
  • Underwrite renewals, modifications, and extensions of existing credits.
  • Ensure all credit files contain proper documentation, including current financial statements and agency reports; prepare letter requests for updated financials and maintain a tickler system.
  • Prepare letters of interest and loan commitment letters for lenders.
  • Own portfolio monitoring activities such as maturities, annual loan reviews, and problem loan reports.
  • Accurately process daily commercial credit transactions, respond to calls, perform initial credit analysis, and prepare documentation.
  • Provide support to credit union members and staff in explaining commercial credit policies and procedures.
  • Perform financial statement and tax return analysis on various sized entities, including industry research.
  • Attend training sessions, conferences, or seminars approved by the supervisor and maintain awareness of policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a professional work environment under time constraints.
  • Understand and apply state and federal laws, regulations, and Gesa’s business lending policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate support for corporate values, mission, and vision, and perform duties in accordance with bylaws and regulations.
  • Protect sensitive data with the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Manage responsibilities, control risk, and act with integrity and ethics at all times.

Qualifications
  • Four (4) year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, preferred, or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Five (5) or more years of similar or related commercial credit analysis experience, preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage workflow while providing high-level member service.
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment, MS Office, Outlook, and commercial lending platforms.
  • Some travel may be required to fulfill duties, career development, or responsibilities.
