Overview

We are looking for a pharmacist to manage the pharmacy department at Fred Meyer in Portland, Oregon. The role involves patient care, prescription fulfillment, compliance, inventory, and staff oversight to ensure exceptional service and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfill customers' prescription needs with high accuracy.
  • Administer vaccines as required.
  • Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA.
  • Maintain professional image and pharmacy standards, including dress standards.
  • Achieve thorough knowledge of the trade area, customers, and competition.
  • Create a positive pharmacy department image through excellent service and cooperation.
  • Monitor stock replenishment, inventory levels, policies, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment operation, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, reports, and product recalls per company policy.
  • Maintain proper records, inventory, and security on scheduled drugs (e.g., controlled substances).
  • Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources and ensure all accuracy tools and audits are used properly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, sanitary work area and proper signage.
  • Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced environment, manage conflict respectfully, and act with honesty and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
  • One year of retail experience (desired).
  • Second language proficiency (desired).
