Job Description

The Wedding and Event Planning Manager’s primary focus is servicing Wedding, Gala and Social bookings, along with Meetings, Holiday Parties and other events as assigned. This position acts as the liaison between Wedding Planners, Brides, Grooms, their families, and the Hotel staff. For non‑wedding events, this position acts as the liaison between the Event Planner and the Hotel staff. Responsibilities include administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage, Setup and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review, facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service and ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded.

The Wedding and Event Planning Manager is the on‑site contact and is responsible for the smooth planning and subsequent execution of all wedding, social, gala and other events as assigned.

The Wedding and Event Planning Manager also hosts hotel tours, wedding and event tastings, maintains strong internal and external customer relationships, participates in and may lead event meetings, and other staff meetings, and works as a team member with the sales, event and hotel staff. The manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

Wage Information

The salary range for this position is $80,168.40 to $86,600. The starting salary for this position will be between $80,168.40 and $81,254.75. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications and education.

Qualifications
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of 2‑3 years of hotel wedding event sales/event planning or comparable experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
  • Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, adaptable to change, organized and able to handle wedding and event planning in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple event types, timelines, and priorities.
  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating meaningful and memorable events.
  • Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program.
  • Prefer wedding and event planning, selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training.
  • Preferred candidate is a certified Hyatt Wedding Specialist or has completed similar training.
