Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Renton Technical College is seeking a
Human Resources Assistant Ito join our team! As the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department, this position performs a variety of complex paraprofessional, technical, and clerical functions that support department operations. Responsibilities include assisting the human resources team with confidential assignments such as processing and fulfilling public records requests, maintaining the public records index, interpreting and applying human resource rules, policies, procedures, regulations, and maintaining all sensitive employment records, including contracts and other personnel documents.
The Human Resources Assistant will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
The Human Resources Assistant I is represented by the Renton Professional Technical Association (Prof-Tech) union. This is a full-time, classified, and overtime eligible position reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources. The pay range for this role is $50,679.28 - $70,039.19 annually. Salary placement is based on applicable experience. New hires may not be placed above step 10 ($66,009.76). - Serve as first point of contact for the Human Resources Department, providing exceptional customer service including greeting individuals, receiving and referring visitors, and answering general inquiring regarding HR and benefits policies and processes.
- Provide clerical, technical and scheduling support to all areas of Human Resources as needed, including the Vice President of HR. Support document and website accessibility.
- Assist with purchase requests and enter annual blanket / monthly purchase orders as needed in ctcLink. Manage the procurement card usage, travel, and reconciliations for the department.
- Support the VPHR and public records function by managing files, producing records, and maintaining logs
- Assist with budget changes in ctcLink.
- Support the HR Assistant II with the new employee orientation experience and on-boarding process for hourly and student employees. Coordinate with other campus area such as CTS, business services, campus safety, and library, to ensure successful transition into employment.
- Assist with ensuring new hire paperwork is completed and inputted in the ctcLink system timely. Create new employee files and maintain all current and separated employee personnel records. Prepare employee separation and exit forms. Process student separations as needed.
- Manage human resources data and maintain confidential records to ensure accuracy.
- Run weekly queries and generate reports to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Assist with the background verification process (Checkr) for all prospective new hires.
- Track and follow up on official transcript request.
- Manage the I-9 process and ensure compliance by following federal guidelines and regulations.
- Serve as the backup SME for ctcLink as needed.
