Senior Data Specialist
Senior Data Specialist responsible for managing and executing all aspects of eDiscovery data processing, file manipulation, data loading, and quality assurance, under the direction of senior contractor IT staff.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee Data Specialists performing file manipulation, loading, conversion services, exports, and production.
- Develop and modify methodologies and procedures for file manipulation with COTS products and litigation support applications.
- Perform quality assurance of all electronic file processing (EFP) services.
- Ensure incoming productions comply with applicable ESI specifications.
- Manage and execute eDiscovery data processing, including raw data processing and loading of load‑ready data sets.
- Process standard and special data types such as proprietary, mobile device, social media, forensic images, audio/video, and create RSMF files for Relativity.
- Work with proprietary databases and non‑standard file types for migration from Relativity Server to Rel One.
- Lead production from start to finish, coordinating production protocols with case teams.
- Communicate with legal teams regarding data set errors and recommend fixes.
- Assist junior team members with guidance, instruction, and troubleshooting.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance tasks.
- Participate in technical teleconferences with producing parties.
- Track and update status in the tracking program and provide regular and ad‑hoc reporting.
- Minimum five years of experience in eDiscovery roles, including electronic file processing, image and data file conversion, data culling, quality assurance, database loads, retrieval, and data analysis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credential/authorization; U.S. citizenship required.
- Knowledge of litigation discovery processes and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.
- Experience with document processing platforms such as Relativity, Rel One, LAW, or Concordance. Everlaw experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows PCs, document review software, encryption methods, and familiarity with ICONECT, West Live Note, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical proficiency with Oracle, SQL, and ability to create Python scripts.
- Willingness to work on a flexible or deadline‑driven schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Undergraduate degree preferred, preferably in computer science or a related field.
Compensation$90,000 per annum (approx. 8.41% of the U.S. federal effective budget). This amount is an estimate and may vary based on experience, qualifications, and prevailing market data.
