The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) is a not-for-profit membership organization that promotes the health of women and newborns. POSITION SUMMARYThe Manager of Editorial and Publication Services leads the editorial development, production, and quality assurance of the organization's educational, clinical, research, and professional practice resources. This position ensures all publications are evidence-based, accurate, consistent with organizational standards, and aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.
The Manager oversees the complete editorial lifecycle for print and digital publications while collaborating with nursing subject matter experts, instructional designers, learning management system (LMS) staff, project managers, marketing, and external publishing partners. This position also leads continuous improvement initiatives that enhance readability, consistency, accessibility, and the overall quality of the organization's educational resources
Editorial Leadership- Develop, implement, and maintain editorial policies, procedures, style guides, and writing standards specific to the organization's educational, clinical, research, and professional practice resources.
- Establish a consistent editorial voice across all educational and publication resources while maintaining alignment with organizational branding. Ensure publications adhere to evidence-based standards, editorial best practices, accessibility guidelines, and organizational quality expectations. Lead editorial quality assurance for print, digital, online learning, and multimedia educational products.
- Review complex manuscripts for organization, readability, and clinical accuracy
- Partner with Education, Research, Clinical Practice, Marketing, Membership, Meetings, and Digital teams to support organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with journal editorial offices, publishing partners, and vendors to ensure consistency across organizational publications.
- Support dissemination of research and evidence
