Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 base. Total compensation $200,000 – $270,000 including truck allowance and bonus.

We are representing one of the largest commercial concrete contractors in the United States - ENR Top Specialty Contractor and a US Best Managed Company for five consecutive years.

They need an Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of structural cast-in-place projects in the Washington DC market. This is the number one hire for the business unit and the hiring manager will move immediately for the right person.

You own the complete project execution process for your portfolio - the financial and operational outcomes, the teams that deliver them, and the capacity of the business unit to match the work it wins.

• Own P&L, forecasting and operational performance across your projects
• Build and lead high performing teams of Project Managers and Superintendents
• Plan and balance manpower across projects, including cross project movement
• Lead the planning cycle - validate project plans, identify the highest risks, make sure a mitigation plan exists
• Run monthly financial reviews and weekly project meetings covering safety, quality, schedule, financials, manpower and the customer
• Recruit, interview and hire your own PMs and Superintendents
• Provide input into bid strategy, estimate reviews and customer presentations

• Structural, multilevel cast-in-place concrete. Shoring, forming and pouring columns and walls, elevated decks, post tension
• $30 – $50 million under your control at one time, across one to three projects or more
• You have built teams - personally recruited, interviewed and hired PMs and Superintendents
• You can articulate how you have led and problem solved complex concrete projects, on safety and on financial performance
• You are comfortable getting into the "two foot space" of others to influence, lead and coach them
• Currently Operations Manager, Division Manager, Area Manager, General with full commercial ownership
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

• You do not have concrete construction experience
• You have never project managed a concrete job - coordinating concrete subcontractors is not the same thing
• You have never recruited and hired your own PMs and Superintendents
• Your experience is limited to quality control
• Your background is only data centers, warehouses or slab on grade. Wanting to move into the data center market is welcome and that work is available - but you need to have built real multilevel structures to hold this seat

• $175,000 – $225,000 base, $200,000 – $270,000 total with truck allowance and bonus, plus a gas card
