The Role:The Associate Vice President (AVP), Brand and Creative is accountable for defining and leading the enterprise-wide creative strategy, execution, and operating model across Providence. This role establishes the standards, priorities, and direction for how the organization's brand is expressed across multiple business lines, markets, regions, divisions and consumer-facing channels.
Reporting to the SVP Chief Marketing Officer Digital Experience, this role ensures consistent, differentiated, and high-quality creative execution that drives measurable impact on enterprise growth, consumer trust, and brand equity. The AVP leads a distributed creative ecosystem spanning internal teams, agency partners, and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment to enterprise strategy and operational priorities.
This leader holds enterprise accountability for creative investment decisions, including agency spend, production resources, and prioritization frameworks, ensuring resources are deployed toward the highest-impact initiatives. The role carries enterprise decision-making authority for creative standards, brand expression, and campaign direction, including tradeoff decisions that influence organizational reputation, regulatory risk, and business outcomes.

Education & Credentials
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Art, Communications, Film and Video Production, or related field; or equivalent education/experience
- Master's Degree; or equivalent education/experience (preferred)
- 10 or more years of strategic experience in design, brand development or advertising, including 10 years creative management.
- 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in brand, creative strategy, advertising, or integrated marketing.
- Leading enterprise-scale creative or marketing functions across multiple markets or business lines.
- Leading leaders and managing distributed teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Experience overseeing budgets, agency partnerships, and enterprise-level resource allocation (preferred).
- Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing creative teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Ability to balance brand storytelling with performance-driven marketing objectives.
- Familiarity with modern marketing technology ecosystems including CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, digital experience platforms and content management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining creative excellence in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across organizational levels.
