Job Description

CNC MACHINISTS – MILLING NEEDED ASAP FOR AEROSPACE COMPANY IN PORTLAND CT.

  • Second shift – Full time, on site, M-F
  • Weekly

    Hours:

    40-45 hours per week, 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM (Possible earlier shift available)

As an Aerospace CNC Machinist, you will be at the forefront of manufacturing high‑precision, tight‑tolerance aerospace components. Your expertise in operating CNC machines will ensure our productivity levels are optimized and our quality standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machining Excellence: Operate CNC and other manufacturing machines to produce high‑quality machined parts, maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Keep detailed records and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Production Planning: Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and materials specifications to plan production. Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure accurate machining parameters.
  • Precision Measurement: Ensure the finished product meets proper dimensions and tolerance levels by using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Education & Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of CNC operation experience.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. GD&T knowledge is essential.
  • Measuring Equipment: Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, depth gauges, and size blocks.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Attention to Detail: Must be accurate, detail‑oriented, and quality‑conscious.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve processes for enhanced productivity and quality.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Weekly

    Hours:

    40-45 hours per week
  • Shift: 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM
  • Full‑Time, On‑site
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $25-32 per hour, based on experience.
    There is an additional "shift differential" of up to 15% paid for working on the 2nd shift.

  • Minimum of 2 years in a CNC operation role.
