The Social Media Director will build and lead a world‑class organic social and digital presence for the Association – elevating our work in Advocacy, Technology, Standards, Workforce, Industry Intelligence, and engaging members, media, and policymakers globally. This role leads and is responsible for end‑to‑end organic social strategy and channel growth across Linked In, You Tube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, and emerging platforms aligned to our mission.
You will establish governance, define success metrics, and guide an integrated team to deliver social‑first storytelling to advance the electronics industry. This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer and collaborates closely with Communications, Marketing, Government Relations, and Regional communications, marketing, and social team members.
- Build and lead the global organic social strategy spanning primary platforms, executive social thought leadership, and employee advocacy. Includes oversight of daily operations for all current active and emerging platforms.
- Define channel purpose, target audiences, and editorial pillars. Define KPIs and a measurement framework that connects organic social to brand reputation, policy influence, audience growth, website referrals, event registrations, and member engagement. Provide regular reporting, analysis, and insights and recommendations to optimize performance.
- Develop an always‑on editorial calendar and craft content in sync with Association and industry news, advocacy milestones, intelligence and research reports, events, and member spotlights, ensuring complex industry and policy issues are engaging and tailored to audiences.
- Partner with internal teams on campaign alignment, website integrations, and GEO/SEO informed insights to supplement organic social.
- Monitor platform changes, cultural/industry moments, and peer benchmarks; forecast risks and opportunities with actionable recommendations.
- Enable employee advocacy via toolkits, guidelines, and training.
- Maintain compliant practices globally (disclosures, privacy, data hygiene, platform terms).
- Ensure content meets accessibility standards (accurate captions, alt text, color contrast, readable typography) and adheres to brand guidelines.
- 8+ years in social media, digital marketing, or brand communications with demonstrated leadership of multi‑channel organic programs; B2B, association, or advocacy experience preferred.
- Proven success building organic strategies that drive measurable outcomes (reputation, reach, engagement, web referrals, event registrations, grassroots actions).
- Deep fluency across Linked In, You Tube, X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and social listening/management platforms.
- Hands‑on experience scaling You Tube, including programming, retention tactics, metadata within You Tube Studio, and analytics.
- Strong creative judgment and editorial instincts; ability to translate technical/policy topics into compelling, on‑brand social‑first narratives.
- Advanced analytics literacy: KPI frameworks, dashboards, test‑and‑learn plans; GA4 familiarity preferred in partnership with Marketing.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; comfort presenting to executives; strong project and stakeholder management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Affairs, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency with tools such as Sprout/Sprinklr/Hootsuite, Brandwatch/Meltwater, GA4, You Tube Studio, and Adobe/Canva.
