Overview
This Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position is contingent on funding and remains open until filled. Habitat for Humanity Seattle‑King and Kittitas Counties builds affordable homes for low‑income families in the region. The member will serve on active build sites and lead volunteers through hands‑on construction tasks such as framing, siding, finish carpentry, flooring, and landscaping. This role enhances leadership, communication, and construction skills for careers in community development, nonprofit management, and the trades.
Monthly stipend: $2,438. Additional monthly housing stipend: $350.
Member Duties- Serve full‑time on active job sites.
- Assist with framing, siding, flooring, and landscaping.
- Lead volunteer groups on site.
- Facilitate safety orientations.
- Support homebuyer families throughout the build process.
- Manage materials and set up/clean project sites.
- Participate in planning meetings to advance affordable home ownership.
- Education award upon successful completion of service.
