WHAT IS

THE ROLE

The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, the leading national nonprofit dedicated to advancing the charter school movement, is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join its team.

The Senior Manager  of Policyreports to theSenior Director of Policyandwill  supportpolicy and advocacyactivities designed to expandaccess to charter school federal funding sourcesas well as increase support of charter schools more broadly at the federal level.

• Regulatory Engagement: Lead the organization’s regulatory agenda, including tracking and analyzing regulatory processes governing key programsimpactingcharter schools and develop, with broad stakeholder input, comments on behalf of the charter school community.

• Programmatic Support: Lead professional learning focused on the federal Charter Schools Program (CSP), including managinga community of practice for CSP applicants and grantees to ensure that sector partners can access and implement CSP grants with fidelity.

• Programmatic Development: Develop, manage, and present content related to the organization’s legislative and regulatory agenda, including the development of high-quality programming for the National Charter Schools Conference and other stakeholder meetings.

• Policy Analysis and Development :
  
  Support a robustfederalregulatory agenda across several agencies with creative, thorough, and thoughtful policy analysis and development.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Supportrelationship development and managementofkey policy partners and Administration officialstocollect inputandpromote alignmentonkeypolicy priorities across the charter school community.

• Advocacy: Support the Government Relations teamwithhigh-quality collateral and talking points on important policy issues facing the sector.

• Represent The National Alliance : Regularlyattendand report outonseminars and briefingsthatpertain to charter schools, school choice, and education reformto support partnership development and growth.

• You are committed to education reform, the charter school movement, and the mission of the National Alliance.

• Youhave a bachelor’s degree and those best suited for this role also have a master’s degree.

• You have at leastfour(4) yearsof relevant, policy-related work experience.

• You have the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner.

• You have excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Youtake pride inthe work you produce andare detail oriented.

• Youare able toset priorities, develop a work schedule,monitor progress towards goals,enjoytrackingall ofthe details and data of the team andprojectsand havea high levelof personal responsibility.

• You enjoy being a team playerandalsohave an entrepreneurial spirit.

• You work cooperatively and effectively with others–setting goals, resolving problems, and making decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

• You have builtpartnerships withlocal leaders and organizationswhose missioncoordinatewith your organization.

• You have atremendous familiarity and comfortwith all things
