Position Overview

The Division of Internal Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a full‑time experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients in an outpatient Internal Medicine setting. The role emphasizes evidence‑based, patient‑centered care within an academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct patient visits, performing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications within scope of practice.
Provide preventive care, health maintenance, and patient education.
Collaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, and care coordinators.
Participate in interdisciplinary quality improvement initiatives, including collaboration with pharmacy.
Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Engage in academic activities, with potential to precept Nurse Practitioner students.

Qualifications

Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Active registration as a registered nurse/Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
Prior experience in primary care or Internal Medicine strongly preferred.
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
Interest in academic practice, teaching, and collaborative care models.
