School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN Federal Way, Washington

Job Description

Make a positive difference in the lives of students as a contract Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the  academic year. This opportunity is close to Federal Way, WA, and focuses on dedicated one-to-one nursing support for a student requiring assistance with G-tube feedings. You'll work full-time from 8:30am to 3:30pm (6.5 hours per day, 35 hours per week), supporting not just the student, but potentially other school buildings as the need arises.

As part of your responsibilities, you’ll accompany the student on the bus to ensure their health and safety during each journey to and from school. On days when the student is not in attendance, or on Wednesdays when school is not in session for students, your specialized skills can contribute to broader campus support.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Current Washington State LPN license and certification is required
• Must be fingerprinted and cleared through OSPI prior to starting
• Previous experience as an LPN/LVN in a pediatric, school, or similar setting favored
• Strong clinical competency with G-tube feedings and pediatric care
• High level of interpersonal skills to interact positively with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to display discretion, empathy, and professionalism in a dynamic environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care, focusing on medical management for a student requiring a G-tube
• Travel with the student on the school bus, offering support and health oversight
• Offer assistance to other buildings during student absences or when additional support is needed
• Maintain meticulous documentation of care provided
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with families
