It Project Manager (Infosec)

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In our dynamic environment, the OIG conducts investigations, audits, evaluations, and inspections to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency and to detect and prevent waste, fraud, and mismanagement in DHS programs and operations.

• Leading and managing multiple IT projects with integrated information security components.
• Developing, modifying, and implementing cybersecurity project documentation including project charters, system security documentation, and risk assessments.
• Evaluating, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity laws, regulations, policies, standards, and procedures throughout the project management process.

• Managing IT projects with integrated information security components under the direction of senior staff.
• Assisting with the development, modification, and implementation of cybersecurity project documentation including project charters, system security documentation, and risk assessments.
• Assisting in evaluating and monitoring compliance with cybersecurity laws, regulations, policies, standards, and procedures throughout the project management process

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
