Overview
Boeing Pre‑Employment Training (BPET) Students – Integral Fuel Cell Assembly (In‑Tank Mechanic) (Job Code: 31606). This role is located in Everett and Renton, Washington and is open exclusively to candidates who have completed a certified BPET course or a Military Career Skills Program.
Responsibilities- Assemble and install structural components, systems, and sub‑assemblies for wing and horizontal stabilizer assemblies within aircraft fuel tanks.
- Verify kitted parts against installation plans and bills of materials to ensure accuracy.
- Perform drilling, reaming, riveting, cold working, bonding, grounding, and sealing as required.
- Install plumbing and electrical systems in confined spaces, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Conduct continuity checks, functional tests, and rework as needed.
- Complete final cleaning, vacuuming, and sealing of fuel cells, including installation of fuel cell doors.
- Report and document any assembly errors or job handicaps following shop procedures.
Tasks include lifting 10–35 lbs, reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, handling solvents, and operating in confined spaces with a canopy opening of 9.5" x 17.7". Use personal protective equipment when required.
Basic Qualifications- Certified BPET Endorsement Form or Military Career Skills Program completion for the 31606 role.
- Ability to stand 6–8 hours, walk constantly, and work from ladders or stairs.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and meet the 9.5" x 17.7" entry requirement.
- Referred to as a “US Person” – US citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- Compliance with Export Control requirements.
- Occupy a 100% onsite schedule at one of the specified locations.
- Undergo Boeing Drug‑Free Workplace testing per company policy.
- Cooperate with the conflict of interest assessment process.
Hourly rate: $26.32/hour with potential earnings up to $56.36/hour under the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
