Engineering and Maintenance - Maintenance Technician_N

Job Title

High-level position in the Renton, WA area with potential for permanent placement based on performance and client needs. Preferred skills include EPA certification, commercial HVAC experience, preventative maintenance, plumbing, electrical, basic handyman skills, and experience with paint and patch work.

Hours/Shift: Candidates must be flexible (Monday - Friday; 7 AM - 3:30 PM, 8 AM - 4:30 PM or 9 AM - 5:30 PM) depending on work requirements at client locations. On-call hours will not be required at temporary status but will be required if the contractor becomes a full-time employee.

COVID Requirement:
Must be fully vaccinated or provide an exemption. An additional requirement for this role is the ability to comply with COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination proof and/or rigorous testing.

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training. May require a valid driver's license. Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, write routine reports and correspondence, respond to inquiries, calculate simple figures, understand and carry out general instructions, solve problems, and use basic analytical skills. Uses personal computer and Microsoft Office Outlook for work order system, email, ESS, and training.

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds. Assists in monitoring building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating, and cooling. Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks. Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems. Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, drains, shop, and HVAC.

Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps. Performs carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed. Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Provides vendor escorts as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
