Position OverviewCrane Maintenance Mechanic – responsible for ensuring safe, efficient operation of cranes. Locations:
Seattle, Sea Tac, Renton, Tukwila, Kent, Auburn, Puyallup, Washington
.
- Inspect, maintain, repair, rebuild, retrofit, modify, assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, calibrate, adjust, and test mechanical systems and subsystems of all crane types.
- Coordinate with management, engineering, vendors, and other organizations to analyze equipment design requirements and capabilities.
- Use schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, technical documents, verbal and written information, and applicable codes and ordinances.
- Develop methods where procedures may not be available.
- Design shop aids to facilitate work and operate precision test equipment and predictive/preventative technologies on cranes.
- Operate and maintain overhead maintenance platforms.
- Maintain, adjust, install, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric brake system components on cranes and bridges as required.
- Inspect and maintain runway rails and expansion joints.
- Maintain mechanical crane and hoist systems including cables, chains, sheaves, and hooks.
- Perform operational load tests of cranes and bridges per engineering, SHEA, and other regulations.
- Maintain logs, charts, and perform written and verbal tie-in records.
- Prepare reports and schedules as required.
- Assist employees of other classifications as required.
- Perform incidental work in other classifications when necessary.
- Lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
- Reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
- Contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
- Proximity to moving parts, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
- Varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
- Use personal safety gear to protect face, eyes, hands, arms, and feet.
This position is 100% onsite at one of the listed locations.

Basic Qualifications- Minimum 2 years experience with schematics, blueprints, manuals, etc.
- Minimum 2 years experience maintaining mechanical cranes and hoist systems.
- Must use fall protection equipment and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Experience inspecting and maintaining runway rails and expansion joints.
- Preference for candidates with 2 years of overhead crane experience.
High school graduate or GED preferred.
RelocationRelocation assistance is not offered; candidates must reside in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Union RepresentationHourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
Shift Work StatementPosition available for all shifts, including 2nd shift.
Total Rewards & Pay TransparencyCompetitive base pay and variable compensation with benefits including health insurance, FSA, HSA, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off. Pay is based on experience and market considerations.
Pay Range33.32 – 61.01
