Position Overview

The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for traveling to customer locations across the Western region of the continental United States—primarily in Oregon and Washington. The senior‑level GSE Technician performs diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on a wide variety of ground support equipment, including diesel and electric‑powered vehicles, hydraulic systems, and electrical control systems. The role requires strong technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems for onsite equipment diagnostics and programming.

Technicians work independently in the field, often dispatched weekly, and are expected to provide technical support and hands‑on service in a professional, efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel approximately 80% of the time to customer sites to provide hands‑on service for aircraft tow tractors, container loaders, aircraft deicers, baggage and cargo transport vehicles, and other airport GSE with ICE or EV platforms.
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on hydraulic systems (pumps, motors, actuators, valves), electrical systems (wiring, fuses, relays, sensors, control modules), and mechanical systems (suspension, steering, drive assemblies).
  • Interface with PLC systems to upload/download programs, troubleshoot logic, and perform control system adjustments.
  • Collaborate with dealer technicians via phone/email or on‑site for troubleshooting assistance.
  • Review technical documentation, manuals, and schematics to ensure accurate service procedures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation through work order systems; ensure issue resolution and service reporting.
  • Participate in OEM testing and equipment upgrades as needed.
  • Provide end‑user product orientation and safe operating procedures at customer sites.
  • Mentor or train junior or less‑experienced technicians in‑field when required.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and five (5) or more years of relevant experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, previous relevant contracting experience with Oshkosh Corporation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and repair.
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems and component‑level service.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic diagnostics and repair.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a passport if necessary.
  • Must be able to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
Compensation and Benefits

Hourly position with overtime pay. Travel expenses are paid. A per diem is provided for each night spent away from home. Pay range: $73,200.00 – $, based on experience and responsibilities.
