We are one of the largest producers of frozen at sea cod and pollock, and distribute seafood throughout the world. We manage two trawl catcher‑processor vessels that operate in the Bering Sea and off the coast of Washington and Oregon. Come join us with one of the many exciting job opportunities available!

Requirements
  • 2+ years experience as a Marine Electrician (preferred)
  • Work 12 hrs/day for 7 days/week in all weather conditions
  • Repetitively lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Self‑motivated team‑player
  • Understand instructions and safety rules in English
  • Must be able to provide 2 recent positive references from previous employers
  • Capable of climbing and descending steep stairs and vertical ladders
  • Share spaces with others including crew quarters, dining areas, and bathrooms
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all electrical systems onboard including power generation, power distribution, engine room, fish processing, hotel, bridge, and deck systems.
  • Troubleshoots electrical issues with equipment, gives recommendations for resolution.
  • Repairs or replaces wiring equipment or fixtures, using hand and power tools.
  • Examines electrical system circuits, equipment, or fixtures using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes to confirm compatibility and safety.
  • Demonstrates competency with PLC systems.
  • Works directly with Chief Engineer to ensure all electrical systems are operational and safe for all personnel.
  • Inspects electrical systems, equipment or parts to spot hazards, defects, or necessity for adjustment or repair and to confirm compliance with applicable codes.
  • Diagnoses faulty systems, apparatus or parts using equipment and hand tools to find the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Places conduit within selected partitions, walls or alternative areas and pulls insulated wires or cables through to finish circuits between boxes.
  • Demonstrates competence in managing Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out and energy isolation procedures.
  • Works with Chief Engineer to keep electrical systems in compliance with all regulatory and classification regulations (U.S.C.G., DNV, FCC, OSHA).
  • Performs routine and annual maintenance of all electrical systems based on manufacturer recommendations.
  • Directs and trains other engineering staff to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable sections of the Safety Management System; is knowledgeable on its policies and procedures.
  • Maintains electrical parts list and inventory, orders supplies through Chief Engineer.
  • Maintains workshop, work areas and supplies in an orderly fashion in compliance with regulatory standards.

$148,000 - $165,000 a year. Pay is a crew share which can vary between each trip. Trip lengths average 13‑24 days depending on fishing conditions. The number of trips the vessel will fish each season is based on quota, with a relief Electrician. Regular shipyard work is scheduled while the vessel is in port between fishing seasons.
