This position is contingent on contract award.
Location:
Fairchild AFB WA and CONUS/OCONUS travel.
This is a non-exempt service employee classification. Overtime and paid time off will be administered in accordance with federal SCA standards and the prime contract stipulations. Rate: $30-40/hourly. A health and welfare fringe benefit allowance of $5.09 per hour up to 40 hours per week will be provided in addition to the base hourly rate
Job SummaryThe Aircraft Mechanic II/Avionics Mechanic inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies electrical, communication, and avionics systems on aircraft.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a US citizen with a valid Driver's License.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of direct hands-on aircraft electrical/avionics experience, with preference for prior work on Air Force KC-135 wide-body airframes.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) licenses is preferred.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime.
- Troubleshoots, tests, and repairs electrical, instrument, and avionics systems, wiring, sensors and antennas.
- Performs routine and special pre-flight or post-flight technical inspections.
- Log maintenance actions, component replacements, and modifications accurately in aircraft records and digital maintenance databases.
- Follows strict tool control, Foreign Object Damage(FOD) prevention, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The working conditions are able to work in tight/awkward and high spaces, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical RequirementsThis position must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Physical requirements of the position may also include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, and lifting and climbing.
