Skilled Laborer Position
The Skilled Laborer position performs advanced, hands-on construction, remodeling, and site-support tasks that require technical proficiency, tool operation, and minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Construction & Remodeling:
Perform framing, demolition, drywall installation, flooring, tile work, concrete and basic finish carpentry. - Tool & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate power tools, hand tools, and some heavy machinery (e.g., saws, drills, jackhammers). - Trade Support:
Assist electricians, plumbers, and other specialized subcontractors with installations and site prep. - Material Handling:
Load, unload, and transport building materials to correct work areas across the site. Prepare and clean job sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and obstructions - Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist skilled tradespeople including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, and temporary structures
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools (shovels, jackhammers, drills, etc.)
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, or other materials
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
- Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or site supervisor
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and perform strenuous physical labor
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work well on a team
- Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
- Working at heights (ladders, scaffolding)
- Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor elements
