Overview
We are a growing and collaborative organization seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting while partnering closely with cross-functional teams.
Location: Reston VA- offers hybrid/remote flexibility
Salary: $75-80K (depending on experinece)
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision & 401K match
Key Requirement: Government contracting experience
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances
- Maintain general ledger accuracy in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
- Assist with audit support, including schedules and documentation
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-4+ years of accounting experience (public or industry)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite, Workday, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Month-end close experience
- Industry experience in nonprofit, government contracting, or corporate accounting (a plus)
