Sr. Accountant

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Reston, Virginia. Being a part of our construction contractor industry, you'll play a crucial role in handling the full cycle of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties.

Responsibilities:

- Execute account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of financial records.

- Manage and update the general ledger regularly.

- Prepare journal entries and ensure they are accurately recorded in the financial system.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.

- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately captured.

- Operate property management software such as Yardi and MRI for efficient accounting processes.

- Handle Cam Reconciliation to ensure accurate allocation of common area maintenance costs. Requirements

- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role within the construction or contractor industry

- Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

- Extensive experience in maintaining and updating the general ledger

- Skilled in creating and managing journal entries

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and financial analysis

- Experience in month end close procedures

- Familiarity with Yardi and MRI software systems

- Proficient in Cam Reconciliation

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

- CPA certification is a plus
