General Ledger Accountant

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2–5+ years of accounting experience (GL or corporate accounting preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP

Job Description:

• Prepare and post journal entries in support of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany balances, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain detailed supporting documentation in accordance with audit standards and internal control requirements.
• Conduct variance analysis and investigate unusual or unexpected financial fluctuations.
• Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supply Chain) to ensure accurate transaction processing and financial reporting.
• Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies, procedures, and SOX/internal control requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
