Position Overview
Staff Accountant
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: Director of Accounting
Responsibilities- Maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities
- Process and review expense reports, Procurement Card transactions, vendor invoices, and cash applications
- Perform accounts receivable analysis and monitor collections activities
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain Fixed Asset and Prepaid schedules
- Process semi‑annual benefit‑related payments and maintain supporting documentation
- Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Purchasing functions as needed
- Respond to internal and external financial information requests
- Assist with audit preparation and financial statement review
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and internal accounting controls
- Support the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountant with special projects and reporting initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems
- Experience supporting government contracting environments is a plus
- Experience in Net Suite/Oracle use is a plus

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $65K to $80K. Expected on‑target earnings: $70K to $90K.
The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
