The Senior Director, Product Management is a key role within the Government Solutions/Equifax Workforce Solutions (EWS) organization, the fastest growing business unit within Equifax. This role balances local, state, and federal government market short‑term execution priorities with long‑term growth strategies, leveraging pricing, product marketing, sales, strategy, finance, operations, and technology to address client needs identified through government industry strategies.
The Senior Director will work a hybrid schedule, working in the office 3 days per week from our office in Reston, VA. This position does not offer immigration sponsorship (current or future) including H4, H1B transfer or F‑1 STEM OPT extension support.
What You’ll Do- Discover opportunities in the local, state, and federal government markets by interviewing current and prospective customers and validating urgent problems to show their pervasiveness in the market.
- Map needs within local, state, and federal government markets and analyze the market segments to actively pursue. Ensure that the targeted segments are large enough to support the current/future business and position of the solution along with other Government products.
- Perform an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment. Articulate learnings in the market and quantify the risk, including a financial model.
- Assist in long‑term planning and product diversification.
- Determine which channels (web UI, batch, API) best align with the markets’ buying preferences.
- Collaborate across functions in order to rapidly deliver new or enhanced solutions to the market. Make quick and effective decisions while considering many complicated competing forces to hit deadlines and drive revenue.
- Provide Portfolio Marketing with inputs for creation of positioning, value propositions, and challenger‑based messages to differentiate our solutions.
- In collaboration with Sales, Finance, and D&A, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine how well the solution is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit. Recommend adjustments as needed.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert and provide thought leadership to aid in the strategic direction and development of webinars, whitepapers, conference speaking engagements, case studies, and other marketing initiatives.
- Understand how clients use our solutions (delivery, onboarding, experience, etc.). Collaborate with Portfolio Marketing to develop and maintain key buyer and user personas; understand the buying process.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years of experience in a B2B product management or related role in a complex business environment, including experience with go‑to‑market strategy development.
- 2+ years of experience with the policies/processes of local, state, and/or federal government markets (Government Benefit Programs).
- 2+ years of experience in analytical skills as evidenced by a proven ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze product concepts, assess market opportunities/viability, and evaluate competitive threats.
- Master’s Degree
- Experience in the technology and/or data industries or working with technology and/or data‑related products and services preferred.
- Experience working in a matrix environment.
- Track record of successfully delivering high‑quality projects on time in a fast‑paced/rapidly changing environment.
- Autonomous influencer who can work comfortably with Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, and Sales teams to get the job done.
- Knowledge of consumer’s information verification methodologies for purposes of Government Benefits eligibility.
- Solution‑oriented mindset to easily understand customer problems and identify solutions.
- Experience working with various state and/or federal agencies like Medicaid, SNAP, FNS, CMS, etc.
- Ability to adjust to new, changing or ambiguous situations (e.g., different management styles, new methods, systems and procedures) and changing priorities within the business and the marketplace.
